After creating a character was disappointed to see that to play i require to purchase a subscription. I would be more than willing to subscribe if I play the game i am paying money for. Hope something can be worked out in relation to this,?looks great, would love to try it.

Don't see an edit option on the app, so replying.
Re-read the description and saw the topic on price. Apologies.
However, a 1 month or even a week free subscription time can be substantial, as players will be able to see if this is the game for them, and when their subscription ends, the type of players that these complex strategic games attract are generally players who would play long term, and lifttime subscriptions would definitely be something most hardcore gamers would be thinking about.

Just my two cents.

"Try before you commit" is buying a one month subscription for $1.99.

I don't like this thread, it reminds me that there are people across the world playing already. I, for one, am glad there isn't a free trial. I would think that most people who are willing to be informed enough to dedicate $1.99 up front will be a more dedicated opponent. I'll totally be ready to lay down a couple of bucks at midnight. :)

Well, it's actually 11pm ET for the entire US, so it's earlier than you think!

What time zone does the U.S. store run on? I hope EST, that'd make it 10 here!

Here's the direct link for the app on the US store:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/empire-of-the-eclipse/id416008339?mt=8

It may take an hour or more for the search engine to index the app after 11pm ET, so I would use the direct link to get it sooner.

So how do I play? I downloaded the game, got the subscription, created a character and clicked on the server... In help option it said that if servers are not populated, the game will start in 12 hours... Does that mean we have to wait till tomorrow to play?!?!?

Join the server called Nergal. It's an open tutorial server.

You can jump on the tutorial server to start trying things out and playing right away.

Is this game wifi only? I'm having trouble establishing connection to the server over my 4G network....

No, I think their servers are down at the moment. Normally you will be able to play over cell connection as well as wifi.

The login servers were down for a couple of mins while we put up new code to fix the "Already Logged in" issue. Everything should be running now.
