Just a suggestion: Spying would allow you to put an ship/probe into an enemy system without being attacked. Maybe 10% chance per rank of not being attacked. Each ship checked separately, so trying to sneak in fleets probably not good. Probably a trader's skill?

Next patch you should be able to see planet details by just having a ship in the system. This is going to resolve lots of issues.

There's already a cloaking research option that basically does exactly that.

Yes. And no. Yes, you're right. But it's not a viable option, as it is such a high level skill, that it would be weeks before it could become useful.

Definitely looking forward to being able to see specs on all planets from a star. And I'm hoping for some form of data saving function, so you can recall info you've gathered on players already "probed". Giggity, I said "Probed"!

There is that. It also makes cloaking mostly useless as a counter to stealth orbitals, as it's a higher tier and takes almost a week to research the first rank on its own, much less the 8 subsequent ranks. By the time you know you NEED it because someone is using stealth orbitals, theres pretty much no piont in bothering to try for it, especially if you haven't already researched in the science tree, as that just adds another week or so to the time it takes to get...
