You have to assign each ship individually right now.
Same problem here. I've destroyed about 8 stars and nothing. I don't really know what the +1 taps is either, though I've tried to collapse more than one at a time with the same solar core tap.
I would think it would be easy for a warlord to slow down a researcher - all you have to do is kill Solar Core Taps as he makes them. Trader, not so sure.
Has anyone hit those center spots yet?
I don't think this is a bug. Trades routes from other players planets can only be established once. You can only have one each of your ships trade with planet A and B from an ally, but they can both...
Same here. Maybe unexplored sectors have a dark tint to them to help identify?
